The WebRoomz application is provided as a vendor-hosted solution. Our experience has shown that the application service provider (ASP) model is the most cost-effective way to produce a faster return on investment (ROI) and a quicker implementation. This model allows institutions to simply license the system from WebRoomz without incurring the capital cost of purchasing hardware and software and also alleviates the need of having a large dedicated support staff. Additional benefits of the ASP model include:
- No additional staff required to operate and maintain the system
- You only pay for licenses you use
- A flexible and powerful reporting system for complete control of your data
- Elimination of issues associated with internal application management
- Single point of contact for all questions and support issues
- Ability to offer the application to a global student base
- State-of-the-art security providers and system configurations to protect your data
- Facilities provided by leaders in the eBusiness industry
- Full network access control and intrusion detection
The WebRoomz Accommodation Management System is hosted by IBM at the BellSouth eBusiness Center in Atlanta, Georgia. The location provides physical security, environmental control, redundant power and network facilities. It is a hub for multiple Tier-1 Internet access providers with extensive bandwidth and network routing capabilities. Only WebRoomz-authorized personnel have access to the IBM facility, with controlled entry by biometric authentication, card-key access, and constant video surveillance.
