WebRoomz is focused on providing innovative, web-based housing management solutions to the property management and higher education industries.
Our unique understanding of property management originates from our experience within Place Properties, a nationwide developer and manager of on- and off-campus student housing properties. The first version of the WebRoomz application, known as Place Management, was originally developed in 1999 for Place Properties. Students, unhappy with room and roommate assignments, were changing rooms and demanding an online, real-time system which would be more convenient and give them the ability to make their own decisions. Place was also looking for a way to increase the operating efficiencies at its student housing properties by eliminating the need for paper, postage, filing, and data entry associated with the application process.
As a result of the market demand from students and the goal of increasing operating efficiencies, Place Properties searched for a system that would meet the students’ requests and assist in solving the challenges associated with managing student housing. After an extensive search, Place determined that there was not a product in the marketplace that had the flexibility and functionality that they were looking for. As a result, Place decided to build their own solution, and WebRoomz was conceived.
Since 1996, Place has been one of the top student housing management and development firms in the country and currently manages over 20,000 beds across the country. Place has built its business and reputation on its understanding of the needs and desires of universities, property managers and their students. That knowledge and experience can be seen in the intelligence of the WebRoomz system.
